One of the most anticipated remasters of recent years was the 50th Anniversary edition of Abbey Road. Featuring classics such as Here Comes the Sun, Come Together, and Something, The Beatles’ expansive last studio album delivers a full spectrum of sound, despite being recorded with the eight-track limitations of the era. In addition to a full remaster, which provides new clarity and depth to the well-known tracks, the release offers an extended glimpse at the creative process behind the album.
For the first time, listeners hear a countrified version of Octopus’ Garden, as well as songs never released by The Beatles at the time. These include the haunting Goodbye, which was given to Mary Hopkins’ to record, and All Things Shall Pass, which ultimately became the title track of George Harrison’s triple debut lp.
